About Starfish
Starfish Greathearts Foundation was founded by a
group of young friends in a London coffee shop in 2001.
The charity has rapidly grown on a global scale and is dedicated
to supporting children who have been orphaned or made vulnerable
through the devastating effects of HIV/AIDS in southern
Africa.
Young people all over the world have caught the Starfish vision and
Starfish Canada was incorporated in 2004 and received charitable
registration in early 2005. Since then, volunteers
across the country have been instrumental in getting this local
chapter of the charity off the ground.
Laura Jenner acts as Chair and CEO of Starfish Canada. Other
members of the Board of Directors include: Lisa Constantine
(Secretary), Lynn Travers (Treasurer), David Hamer (Founding
President), Harriet Lewis, Jana Masiewich, Katie Motta, and Shayne
Tryon.
Starfish Canada is privileged to count on the support of a number
of distinguished Canadians, who act as Patrons and Advisers:
